Lingerie in the window light - Photo Favs 01

This photo, from 2021, has been one of my favourites since it was taken. And it’s an image that constantly receives a positive reaction from fans of boudoir.

It’s relatively simple - easy to set up and quick to shoot. We used the glow of light from the large bay windows at one end of my studio. This gives such a soft, wrap-around light that flatters everyone.

Take a guess at the age of this model - you’ll probably get it wrong.

Days before this shoot my model turned 60. Good genetics and a good bra solves so many issues!

So what do I like about this photo? There are so many things.

The way my model is anonymous, by turning her head away and using her hair to cover her face. The was light comes from behind her through the large bay windows in my photo studio. The hand furtherest from the camera raised, to create another point of interest in the image.

And I particularly like the way the image is cropped. Many women have, er, issues with their tums. The crop at the bottom of the image removes this as a potential issue, while allowing the cleavage to shine.

I have this photo as one of my display canvass prints in the studio, at a huge A2 size. It impresses every visitor to the studio.

For any women who wants a photo like this I offer two pieces of advice. First is to ensure that your bra fits you well - nothing in post-processing can fix a poor fit. Second is to choose lingerie that makes you feel fabulous. That makes such a difference to the images you’ll receive.

So, what do you think? Is this something you’d do?
