Find your boudoir style
There isn't one way to do boudoir. Your photographs can be soft and romantic, bold and confident, dark and dramatic, playful and cheeky, or artistic and anonymous. The beauty of a studio session is that we can explore different looks and moods to create photographs that feel like you.
You don't need to arrive with a Pinterest board or a perfectly planned outfit. We'll talk about what you like, what you're comfortable with and how you'd love to be photographed, then guide you through the rest. From styling and lighting to posing and expression, we'll help you discover what works beautifully on camera.
Some women want classic, timeless portraits. Others want something a little more adventurous. Some prefer to show everything; others love the mystery of shadow, fabric and silhouette. There are no rules about what your boudoir photographs should look like – only what feels right for you.
So have a look through the different styles below, find the ones that make you stop and think “I love that”, and let's create something that's completely your own.
Soft and romantic
Soft light and gentle movement create a more intimate side of boudoir. Think delicate lingerie, flowing sheets, oversized shirts and natural expressions, photographed with a lighter touch. These images can feel sensual without being overt, with the emphasis on beauty, connection and the quiet moments between poses.
Black and white photography works particularly beautifully with this style. Without colour competing for attention, the photograph becomes about skin, texture, light and emotion. The result is elegant and understated — photographs that feel beautiful now and will still feel beautiful years from now.
“Warm, welcoming, interesting and inspiring!” – Ms C, 2026
Sexy and confident
This is boudoir with a little more attitude. Strong poses, beautiful lingerie, direct eye contact and confident body language create photographs that say you know exactly who you are. You don't need to arrive feeling confident, either – confidence is something we'll build throughout the session.
Our approach is never about forcing a particular idea of sexy onto you. We'll find the poses, expressions and styling that make you feel fantastic, then use professional lighting and direction to make those qualities shine through in the photographs.

Dark and dramatic
If you like your photography with a little more mood, this is where things get interesting. Directional light, deep shadows and strong contrast can create photographs with a cinematic, almost mysterious quality. A little darkness can conceal as much as it reveals, allowing the shape of your body to become part of the story.
This style is particularly suited to our classic black-and-white approach. Deep blacks, luminous skin and carefully controlled highlights create images with depth and presence. They're sensual without being obvious, dramatic without becoming theatrical, and designed to look like photographs rather than passing trends.

Playful and cheeky
Boudoir doesn't have to take itself too seriously. Some of the best photographs happen when you stop worrying about looking perfect and simply have fun. Movement, laughter, unexpected poses, oversized shirts, playful styling and a little attitude can all become part of your session.
We'll encourage you to experiment and try things you might not normally consider. You might arrive feeling nervous and leave wondering why you didn't do it sooner. The aim isn't to create a performance – it's to capture your personality, your energy and the version of you that comes out when you're relaxed and enjoying yourself.
“It’s really fun and relaxed.” – Ms J, 2025
Artistic and anonymous
Sometimes the most powerful photograph isn't the one where you can see everything. By using silhouettes, shadows, cropped compositions and carefully controlled light, we can create images where your identity disappears and the human form becomes the subject.
This is where boudoir moves towards fine art. A curve becomes a line. Skin becomes texture. A shoulder becomes a shape. With classic black-and-white photography, the result can be beautifully anonymous – personal to you, but sophisticated enough to be viewed simply as art.
“Professional, fun experience” – Ms C, 2021
