Fabric art photography is where photography becomes movement. Using flowing fabrics, dramatic studio lighting and the shape of the human body, we create images that feel more like fine art than traditional portraiture. Fabric moves around you, catches the light and creates unexpected shapes, while your body becomes part of the composition.

A little different from boudoir
Fabric art isn't about lingerie or traditional boudoir posing. It's about movement, shape and light.
A piece of fabric can conceal your body, reveal parts of it, create sweeping lines or transform completely as it moves through the air. We photograph the moments where everything comes together – fabric, body and light – to create something you couldn't have imagined beforehand.
The photographs can be sensual, dramatic, playful or abstract.
There are no rules
You don't need to know what to do The beauty of fabric art is that you don't need dance or modelling experience. We'll guide you through the movement, show you how to work with the fabric and direct you throughout the shoot. Our job is to watch the light, anticipate the movement and capture those split seconds when everything comes together.
Sometimes the best photograph happens unexpectedly. That's part of the fun.

Fabric and movement work beautifully with Smoke&Mirrors' classic black-and-white style, as well as in colour. With fabrics the photograph becomes about texture, shape, contrast and movement. Fabric becomes almost sculptural. Your body becomes part of the artwork.
